The “Manos Por Mexico” exhibit, in honor of surrealist artist and designer Pedro Friedeberg, will open at the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City on June 5, 2014.
Pedro Friedeberg, born in Italy and brought to Mexico as a young child, has spent much of his life in this country, making Mexico City his home. He shared ideas and experiences with Leonora Carrington, Edward James, Pita Amor, Alice Rahon, and Antonio Souza. His masterpiece and most widely recognized work is his “Hand-Chair” (Mano Silla, 1962), and this exhibit will feature reproductions done by plastic artists of that well-known piece.
Opening date and time: June 5, 2014, 8:00 p.m.
Location: Museo Franz Mayer, Hidalgo 45, Centro Histórico, Mexico, D.F.
